چکیده
Abstract KM3NeT, a new generation of neutrino telescope, is currently being deployed in the Mediterranean Sea. While its two sites, ORCA and ARCA, were respectively designed for determination mass hierarchy high-energy astronomy, this contribution presents study detection potential KM3NeT MeV-GeV energy range. At these low energies, data rate dominated by low-energy atmospheric muons environmental noise due to bioluminescence K-40 decay. The goal characterize order optimize selection interactions increase sensitivity transient astrophysical phenomena, such as close-by core-collapse supernovae, solar flares, extragalactic transients. In contribution, we will how using science tools might improve searches. We first introduce sets different variables used KM3NeT’s response noise. then compare efficiency various identifying components disentangling from background events. conclude with implication neutrinos future

High energy astrophysical neutrinos
High energy neutrinos with energy typically greater than tens of thousands of GeV may originate from several astrophysical sources. The sources may include, for instance, our galaxy, the active centers of nearby galaxies, as well as possibly the distant sites of gamma ray bursts. I briefly review some aspects of production and propagation as well as prospects for observations of these high ener...

متن کاملAstrophysical Sources of High Energy Neutrinos
I give a brief critical review of the predicted intensity of diffuse high energy neutrinos of astrophysical origin over the energy range from ∼ 10 eV to ∼ 10 eV. Neutrinos from interactions of galactic cosmic rays with interstellar matter are guaranteed, and the intensity can be reliably predicted to within a factor of 2 up to 10 eV. Somewhat less certain are intensities in the same energy rang...
متن کاملNeutrino properties from high energy astrophysical neutrinos
We make two basic assumptions which are reasonable. The first one is that distant neutrino sources (e.g. AGN’s and GRB’s) exist; and furthermore with detectable fluxes at high energies (upto and beyond PeV). The second one is that in the not too far future, very large volume, well instrumented detectors of sizes of order of KM3 and beyond will exist and be operating; and furthermore will have (...
متن کاملHigh Energy Astrophysical Tau Neutrinos: The Expectations
A search for high energy astrophysical tau neutrinos will not only yield quite useful information about some of the highest energy phenomenons occurring in the present universe related to the origin of observed high energy gamma rays and ultra high energy cosmic rays but also can possibly probe physics beyond standard model of particle physics. The representative extra terrestrial sources of hi...
